Data Deletion

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This page explains how to delete your Madefolio account and the personal data associated with it, and what happens to your data once you do. Deletion requests are processed in accordance with applicable data-protection law, including UK GDPR.

How to request deletion

You can delete your account yourself from inside Madefolio, or ask us to do it for you:

Option 1 — Delete from your account settings

The fastest way is to do it yourself:

If a delete option is not visible in Settings, use Option 2 below.

Option 2 — Contact us

Email us and we will handle the deletion for you:

Madefolio

Email: hello@madefolio.co.uk (subject: "Data deletion request")

Web: madefolio.co.uk

Please send the request from the email address on your Madefolio account so we can verify it is really you. If you no longer have access to that address, include your business name and any detail that helps us identify the account, and we will verify your identity another way.

We acknowledge every request and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with applicable data-protection law.

What gets deleted

What we keep, and why

In limited cases we must retain some data for longer, because the law requires it:

Anything we keep is reduced to the minimum, kept only as long as necessary, and never used for any other purpose.

Reviews left by your customers

Reviews that appear on your portfolio are the words of your customers. When your account is deleted, your portfolio goes offline and the reviews stop being displayed. If a customer wants their review removed entirely, they can ask us directly using the contact details above.

If you sent an enquiry to a business

If you are not a Madefolio subscriber but you sent an enquiry through a portfolio page, that business holds your enquiry. To have it deleted, contact the business directly. You can also ask us to remove the enquiry record from our systems using the contact details above.

Other rights

Deletion is one of several rights you have over your data. You can also ask for a copy, corrections, or restrictions on processing — see our Privacy Policy for the full list. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
